There are two types of meanings for the word podium. One is a construction term where podium is the base for a tier of seats like in an ancient amphitheater. Another construction meaning of the word podium is the low wall that serves as a foundation of a terrace wall. The second meaning of the word podium applies to what we build here at DragonOak's Wood Shop. The podium or often called a lectern is often seen as a dais for and orchestral conductor.
